How We Stand

Mighty

"The Slifka family does not shrink — we stand firm, speak truth, and fight for what matters."

To be mighty is not to be aggressive — it is to be courageous. It is the strength that protects the vulnerable, speaks truth when silence is easier, and refuses to compromise under pressure. The Slifka family is called to be mighty in spirit, mighty in faith, and mighty in love. These twelve principles define what it means to live with the holy boldness of men and women who know their God.

The 12 Codes of Mighty

1

1. Courage in the Face of Fear

We do not let fear make our decisions. We acknowledge fear honestly, bring it to God in prayer, and act in obedience regardless. Courage is not the absence of fear — it is faith in action.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

— Joshua 1:9

2. Speaking Truth

We speak truth even when it is costly. We do not soften what God has said to make it more palatable. We speak with love, but we do not trade truth for approval.

"Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding."

— Proverbs 23:23

3. Protecting the Vulnerable

We use our strength to defend those who cannot defend themselves — children, the poor, the marginalized. Might is not for self-advancement; it is for the protection of others.

"Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."

— Psalm 82:4

4. Spiritual Warfare

We recognize that our greatest battles are not physical but spiritual. We put on the full Armor of God and stand firm against the schemes of the enemy in prayer and the Word.

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness."

— Ephesians 6:12

5. Standing Firm in Conviction

We do not drift with the culture. We know what we believe, why we believe it, and we hold it with gracious, unshakeable conviction. We are anchored, not adrift.

"Stand firm in the faith; act like men; be strong."

— 1 Corinthians 16:13

6. Boldness in Prayer

We pray with confidence, expectation, and holy boldness. We do not approach the throne of grace timidly — we come as sons and daughters of the King.

"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

— Hebrews 4:16

7. Perseverance under Pressure

We do not quit when things are hard. We endure trials with faith, knowing that God is using every difficulty to build something in us that cannot be built any other way.

"For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again."

— Proverbs 24:16

8. Refusing Compromise

We do not compromise our values for convenience, comfort, or social acceptance. We hold the line on what matters — with grace toward people and firmness on principle.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind."

— Romans 12:2

9. Strength in Gentleness

True might is not loud or harsh. The strongest people are often the gentlest — because they have nothing to prove. We are strong enough to be tender, secure enough to be kind.

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

— Proverbs 15:1

10. Leading Under Fire

When the family faces crisis, we do not panic or abandon our post. We lead with calm authority, steady faith, and the assurance that God is sovereign over every storm.

"He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."

— 1 John 4:4

11. Mighty in Love

Our greatest display of strength is love. It takes more courage to love sacrificially than to win an argument. We are mighty in the love that lays down its life.

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."

— John 15:13

12. Strength from God Alone

Our might does not come from our own resources, willpower, or talent. It comes from the Lord who strengthens us. We are weak so that His strength may be made perfect in us.

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

— Philippians 4:13
